Goodness Grows is a sustainable agriculture nonprofit in North Lima, at Common Ground Church. Vegetables, herbs, and flowers are produced using organic practices for non-profit Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members and special orders.

Founded in 2007 to support regenerative agriculture, Goodness Grows provides education, garden supplies, and local food access in two Youngstown neighborhoods. In 2011, the "Mahoning Valley City Fresh," a community supported agriculture (CSA) program, was started as a part of an outreach to the urban neighborhoods and in support of local farmers. Read the Mahoning Valley City Fresh Flyer and the Mahoning Valley City Fresh Information Sheet for more details.

Under the Mahoning Valley City Fresh program, Goodness Grows offers 60 shares to the public and an additional 20 shares to low-income residents on Youngstown's East Side. Residents can use their Ohio Direction Card and order on a week-by-week basis. The 15-week season runs from June 29th through October 5th, 2011. Wednesdays are planned for the produce pick-up at a few locations in greater Youngstown area.

Email CSA@goodnessgrows.net for the Mahoning Valley City Fresh Application or print and complete the online form. There are standard weekly shares as well as bi-weekly shares available. Applications will be accepted that are postmarked by May 25, 2011.

Goodness Grows is also working with residents in two urban neighborhoods to build Community Gardens. Opportunities exist to support these and other local initiatives with service, supplies, funds, or time. Call or email us if you have an interest in engaging in the local projects.
