TIPS FOR GOING TO AGRICULTURAL MARKETS
  • Go to your bank or ATM for cash before going - not all vendors take personal checks.
  • Take your reusable market bags to conserve our natural resources.

  • Bring along a cooler to store any dairy and meat products purchased – don’t forget ice or ice packs.

  • Go early to get the freshest products and widest selection.

  • Bring a recipe for dinner or ask the grower how they like to prepare a favorite veggie or how they use a favorite fruit.

  • Have fun!

FUN AT THE MARKET

In addition to the local supply of fresh and locally-grown produce, Mahoning Valley agricultural markets provide an exciting variety of entertaining and educational events on the farm. Available for many years before they became so popular recently, area producers have increased the ways the public can experience agricultural production first hand. Now you can find corn mazes, haunted houses, hayrides, petting zoos, picnics, festivals, craft fairs, and other fun activities happening on the farm while you shop and learn. The profiles on this site list events you are likely to find at individual agricultural sites, and the Special Events page highlights a quick guide to what's happening.
